To help prepare for a long Friday, snacks and drinks were available all afternoon, and A Conference Kick-Off Happy Hour was held Thursday evening, again at Cindy Blaylock’s popular Patio Cafe on the Square in Downtown Huntsville.

Two full panels were offered Thursday afternoon to begin the 61st annual ASAT Conference. One was a panel that focused on the Cabiness family lynching that took place near Huntsville, Texas, in 1918. Presenters were Jami Horne (left), Briana Weaver (right), and Jeff Littlejohn (center, below). The Chair was Bernadette Pruitt (center, above). The second concurrent Thursday panel was a collection of papers on linguistics and the uses of language and behavior. Presenters were Helena Halmari (who also was the panel Chair; center), Hannah Dietrich (left), and Bradley Nichols (right).
